Former farmhouse. Early C17. Timber framed and plastered, lined in imitation
of ashlar. Deep bargeboards with pierced scalloping and spike finials.
Thatched roof. 3-cell, lobby entry type. 2 storeys. Old 3-light mullion and
transom casement windows without glazing bars. Plank entrance door. Internal
stack; later gable stack to right. Set forward to the right is a one-storey
late C19 red brick addition with embattled parapet and one segmental-headed
window. Attached to the right gable end is a one-storey range of
outbuildings: plastered clay lump, pantiled roof. Interior. Victorianised.
Plain but substantial studding exposed on upper floor with straight wall
braces at the service end. Parlour ceiling has very regular on-edge joists
and appears later than the surrounding structure. Plain square joists at
service end. Joists in hall concealed. Original newel stair and several C17
doors (painted). In the hall is an early C19 fireplace with moulded surround
and corner roundels.
