Barn. Mid C17. Timber framed, mainly weatherboarded, a small part with
tarred daub. Upper part of west gable end is faced in C19 red brick; below is
a brick addition of similar date. Roof clad in corrugated iron. Boarded cart
doors to south. Interior. 6-bay frame with full-height studding except for 2
bays at west end which have a mid rail and were originally floored. Some
original wattle and daub infill. Cart entry one bay from east end. A later
cross-partition in third bay from west. Good intact roof in 11 bays, with
clasped and stepped butt purlins. 2 tiers of wind braces, symmetrically
disposed: those in the 5 west bays curve one way, those in the five east bays
curve the other, leaving the centre bay without wind bracing. Attached to the
east is a further timber framed range of later date, not of special interest.
