Former farmhouse. Late C16, probably earlier origins. Timber framed and
plastered with a pantiled roof. 2-cell, lobby entry form. 2 storeys and
attic. Ground floor has 2 2-light casement windows of c.1900; no first floor
windows. Doorway has pedimented architrave and plank door. Shaft of stack
rebuilt mid C20. C19 red brick lean-to at rear. Interior. 3-bay frame,
mostly concealed except in the upper right room where there are steeply-
inclined arched corner braces. Right cell has wallposts just clear of stack,
with blocked mortices just below upper floor level. Substantial plain joists,
set flat, on both floors; floorbeam in left cell has barred stop-chamfers.
Clasped purlin roof over right cell, the rafters concealed.
