Farmhouse. Probably late C16 with later work to rear. Early-mid C19 facade.
Wing adjoining to right demolished 1959. Timber framed, the facade and left
gable end cased in white brick, with pilasters at the angles. Remainder
plastered. Roof of concrete plaintiles. 2-cell, lobby entry type. 2 storeys
and attic. 2 windows, inset 16-paned sashes under gauged brick arches. C19
gabled porch, contemporary with facade: scalloped bargeboards, semi-circular
arch with mid C20 semi-glazed door. Within the porch is an C18 door with 6
raised fielded panels. 2 gabled 3-light dormers, that to left with original
lintol dated 1634. The stack, placed almost centrally, has a plain C19 shaft.
Garage addition to right also faced in white brick, with a clay plaintiled
roof; one 16-paned non-opening window. l½-storey rear wing has a gable end
window with old square-leaded glass. Interior. Victorianised, most of the
structure concealed. Early C19 stair tunnelled through stack has stick
balusters and wreathed handrail. Butt purlin roof.
