The Homestead & Sunnyend Cottage

Former farmhouse, now 3 dwellings. A late C16 3-cell range in 2 phases (The Homestead); small probably C18 addition to south (Sunnyend Cottage). The Homestead renovated and subdivided 1960's. 2 storeys. Timber framed and rendered, thatched roof. Mid C20 standard casement windows without glazing bars. 2 mid C20 glazed doors. Internal stack. Sunnyend Cottage has a concrete-pantiled roof, mid C20 3-light windows with horizontal glazing bars and a boarded door. Interior. The Homestead is considerably modernised, most of the studs concealed but said to survive. Original newel stair behind stack, and a C16 straight stair with solid treads at the service end. Parlour cell enlarged by one bay. Original side purlin roof. Interior of Sunnyend Cottage not examined.
