2/151 Mill House
Originally 2 houses, now one. Early C19, incorporating earlier work. Timber
framed and plastered, the facade lined in imitation of ashlar. Slated roof,
the front slope with courses of fishscale slates. 2 storeys. Upper floor has
3 sash windows with glazing bars, symmetrically arranged. 2 matching
doorways, that to left disused. Each has a moulded architrave with corner
squares, frieze and cornice; doors have 6 raised fielded panels (left) and 6
sunk panels (right). To left of each doorway is a sash window with glazing
bars. Stack has 2 separate square shafts set diamondwise. Interior. Ground
floor room to left has indications of perhaps early C17 core: widely-spaced
flat joists, some studding, evidence for a small secondary diamond-mullioned
window, fireplace with chamfered brick arch.
