Former farmhouse, now divided into 2 cottages. C16. Timber-framed and
rendered; old plaintiles. 2 storeys, part with attic; 2-cell internal chimney
form. The stack has a plain rebuilt shaft of old red brick. 2-light and 3-
light C20 standard casement windows throughout. A single-storey lean-to in 2
separate sections along the front. Access obtained only to No.1 (to right of
internal stack): 2 bays, with no means of entering roof. On the ground floor
the basic single room has been divided up. The exposed ceiling has heavy main
cross-beams with a double roll-moulding and run-off stops, and the joists a
single roll and scotia. The long post-heads each have a roughly-shaped shield
with a raised outline and quarterings and below it a wide carved leaf. On the
rear wall, the shield has 1578 and the initial A above PS on one quatering,
with AP in another below. Plain framing on the upper floor. Blocked original
windows on both floors.
