TL 97 SE LANGHAM TOWNHOUSE LANE

2/24 Dormer Cottage

House. Late C17. Timber-framed and rendered, with traces of pargetting in a
zig-zag pattern; thatched roof with decorated ridge. 1 storey and attics.
One internal chimney stack, and another set externally on the left gable, both
with plain red brick shafts. 4 eyebrow dormers with old 2-light small-paned
casement windows; 3 small-paned 2-light casement windows to the ground floor
with boarded external shutters. 3 eyebrow dormers on the rear slope of the
roof match those on the front. C20 plank door with herringbone brick to
jambs flanked by 2 small single-light windows with diamond leading. 3-cell
lobby-entrance plan. Framing, exposed inside, has primary braces and bisected
studs; the-internal stack has 2 back-to-back hearths with the remains of plain
timber lintels; roof with a ridge-piece, high collars and side purlins.
