Description

TL 97 SE LANGHAM WALSHAM ROAD

2/25 Hillwatering Farmhouse

II

Former farmhouse. Early C17. Timber-framed and rendered; part plaintiles,
part pantiles. Part 1½ storeys, part 2 storeys and attics. All windows are
mid C20 2-light and 3-light standard casements. The lower section of the
house, on the left, has 2 gabled dormers. The higher section has a lobby-
entrance form: an internal chimney-stack with a plain red brick shaft. An
original 2-storey porch has a projecting tie-beam with a double ovolo-mould
and a later lean-to on its right side. The tie-beam of the right gable of
this range projects but is plastered over. A wing extends from the centre of
the rear wall, the moulding on the tie-beam matching that on the porch. To
the left of the porch a single-storey bay has been added with lean-to roof.
