GV II

House. C17 and c18. Timber-framed and rendered; plaintiled roofs. 1½
storeys; 2-cell main range with lobby-entrance, C18 rear wing. A C19 single-
storey extension formerly used for the village post office along part of the
front: rendered, with comb pargetting; plaintiles to the hipped lean-to roof;
one 12-pane sash window and one fixed 6-pane window; a central entrance door
with 6 fielded panels. The main range has an internal chimney-stack of Tudor
brick with 4 attached diagonally-set square shafts on a rectangular base. 2
gabled dormers with plain bargeboards, plastered cheeks, and 2-light casement
windows with a single bar to lights. One 3-light casement window to the
remainder of the ground floor with 2 horizontal bars to lights. Plain
interior with much framing covered. One tie-beam has been, cut through,
another has a marked camber and straight supporting braces. 2 upper
fireplaces to the stack, one with a segmental brick arch. Rear wing with
primary braces and bisected studs. Roof not examined.
