TM 47 NE HENHAM

4/20 Barn 40m south of Henham

Barn. Early C18. Mainly timber framed with tarred weatherboarding; the south
end is of red brick. Hipped roof of glazed black pantiles. 7 bays, with cart
entrances in the 2nd and 5th bays from the north; there are porches on the
east side, now linked by a later addition. Oak frame with heavy straight
bracing and bisected studs; all but 2 of the open trusses retain their long
arched-braces. The roof has 2 rows of butt purlins and a ridge piece.
