Farmhouse. C16 and C17 with later alterations. Timber-framed, with a late
C18 or early C19 red brick casing; plaintiled roof. 2 storeys and attics. 3
windows, 4-light casements under flat brick arches. Asymmetrical doorway with
inset 6-panel raised and fielded door (the upper 2 panels glazed), panelled
reveals, wide architrave and cornice. 2 gabled dormers. Heavy internal stack
and gable end stacks. To the left is an early C18 Dutch gable end with pairs
of blocked segmental-arched windows at ground and first floor levels and a
brick band at attic level. The right hand gable end is in matching style but
was rebuilt c.1945. The earlier section of the house is to the left of the
stack, where the roof has clasped purlins and arched wind-bracing. The left
hand ground floor room has complete mid C18 panelling and a bolection-moulded
cornice; there is matching panelling to the gable end wall in the room above.
A little studding is visible on the first floor. Newel stairs.
