3/54 Church House (formerly
1.9.53 listed as Cottage North
West of St. Margaret's


House, originally a farmhouse. Probably C16. Timber framed and plastered,
the front cased in colourwashed brick; pantiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. 3
cell form with lobby entrance. Various mullioned windows, mostly C20 copies
of the originals but some probably incorporating original work; splayed
reveals. C20 red brick gabled porch and C20 plank door in C16 style.
Internal stack. At the rear there are further mullioned windows, some
original. Restored interior with exposed timbering; the newel stairs are said
to remain.
