4/47 Former Workhouse Chapel
Former chapel to the Wangford Hundred workhouse, now used as a farm store.
1865-6 by G.E. Street. Red brick with a plaintiled roof with crest tiles. In
the Gothic style. A single roof covers both nave and apsidal chancel: the
junction is marked by a fleche on the roof and a brick buttress on each side
wall. The nave has a range of 3 coupled lancet windows with a circle above.
The apsidal end has 3 lancet windows. At the west end is an open lean-to
porch and a 3-light window. Plain red brick walls inside.
