4/87 Barn and Stable at right
angles to The Grange

GV II

A long range, divided-off for stabling at one end. Dated 1818. Red brick,
laid in Flemish bond; hipped thatched roof. Diamond-shaped ventilation panels
in the long walls. A slated lean-to along the rear wall. The interior has
straight tie-beams and a good roof in short bays: 2 rows of slightly stepped
butt purlins, deep narrow principals, straight collars, ridge piece. This is
an unusually large barn for the area.
