4/49 Game Larder 10m north west
of Park Cottage
Game larder of Somerleyton Hall Estate. Circa 1850. Roughcast render on
brick with applied timbering. Hipped thatched roof. Picturesque style.
Rectangular on plan; single storey. Windows on 3 sides with close metal mesh;
ventilating louvres below the eaves. Boarded entrance door. A good example
of a purpose-built estate game larder which was still in use at the time of
survey. Part of the planned estate development designed by John Thomas for
Sir Morton Peto.
