Group of 4 identical plant troughs. Circa 1846 by John Thomas for Sir Morton
Peto. They are shown in their present position on Nesfield's 'Plan of Details
for the Enlargement of the West Parterre' dated October 1850; at this date
they were already in existence and were described as 'stone flower baskets'.
Stone; lozenge-shaped on plan. Listed for group value as part of the formal
garden originally laid out by Nesfield. Forms part of a garden included in
the HBMC County Register of Gardens at Grade II.
