An early C19 timber-framed and plastered building. 1 storey, 6 window range,
double-flung sashes with glazing bars, in flush cased frames. The doorway has
a Roman Doric portico with plain columns, triglyph frieze and cornice. Roof
slate, gabled at the north and south ends. A C20 addition has been built at
tile rear.

No 26 (The Ancient House) and No 27 together with No 15 (The Vicarage), the wall
to the Vicarage and No 16 (Galloway House) on the west side and the Church of
SS Peter and Paul form a group.
