4/104 The Old Shop

GV II

House. Late C17. 1 1/2 storeys: 2-cell plan. Timber-framed, encased in C19
colour-washed brick, with pantiled roof. Internal chimney-stack. On right, a
late C19 double shop front: projecting bay with 2 small-paned windows in heavy
boxed surrounds, central glazed and panelled door. On left, a small bay with a
single-bar sash window in a boxed frame. In the brickwork over the windows, 4
irregularly-spaced segmental arches with keystones for the earlier C19 windows.
2 gabled dormers with sash windows.
