The eastern gate lodge to Hengrave Hall. 1848 on tablet. In the Gothic style.
1 storey, 2 windows. Gault brick walls with limestone dressings and coped
gables with kneelers. Fish-scale tiled roof and red brick chimneys with
circular shafts having diaper decoration, moulded caps and bases. Limestone
mullioned and transomed windows with hood-moulds, arched headed lights and
leaded casements. A splayed bay window to right of entrance with crenellated
parapet and hood-moulds. Gabled entrance porch with hood-moulded panelled door
having nail-head decoration. Plaque over door with arms of Thomas Gage.
