5/41 The School House

- II

School house. Mid C19; slightly later in date than the school itself, and
added to the school at its south west corner. 2 storeys: L-shaped plan. Rubble
flint, with composition stone quoins and dressings, and slate roofs. Internal
chimney-stack with 5 lavishly ornamented shafts in cream-coloured terra-cotta:
crenellated caps, fluted shafts, and bulbous, moulded bases. Windows with
narrow lights between heavy composition stone mullions: 4 lights to ground
storey, 3-and 2-lights to upper storey.
