Listing Text

4/25 Nos. 1 & 2.

House, now 2 cottages. Mid C18, altered in early C19. 2
storeys. Timber-framed core, encased in flint with red brick
quoins and dressings: the flints are very large and partly
knapped. Steeply-pitched hipped roof with double Roman tiles.
An internal chimney-stack with a high, plain red brick shaft. 2
3-light casement windows with horizontal bars to each storey. 2
plank doors in plain surrounds. A lean-to extension behind No.1,
and behind No.2 a small 2-storeyed addition with separate hipped
roof: this has the north wall continuous with the front range,
and seems to have been added at the same time that the front was
encased in flint.
