Description

TL 97 NW EUSTON EUSTON PARK

5/39 The Racing
- Stables

- II

The former racing stables of Euston Hall, now converted to a
house. Late C17 or early C18. 2 storeys. Red brick. Black
glazed pantiled roof with overhanging eaves and dentil cornice.
The 2 sides of the building project very slightly to east and
west. The 5 internal chimney-stacks have shafts with recessed
semi-circular-headed panels. Blank arcades almost the full
height of the walls surround the whole building, with a small-
paned sash window in cased frame within each panel. The upper
windows are casements with a single bar to the lights, and have
small semi-circular roofs rising above the line of the eaves. A
similar, but larger, roof over the central small-paned sash
window above the entrance door, both mid C20. The door and
window have been fitted into the area of the original high
entrance arch. The design has some similarities with the main
stables, facing Euston Hall.
