Manor house. Built in 1892 by Balfour & Turner of London to replace the old
Hall, destroyed by fire in 1885. In a restrained Jacobean style, which may owe
its inspiration to Seckford Hall, near Woodbridge. Red brick, with plaintiled
roofs. 2 storeys and attics. Cross-wings to north and south, and 3
intermediate 2-storey projections, one for the entry . Crow stepping to all
gables. 9 internal chimney-stacks with clustered shafts. 5-light mullion-and-
transome type windows to both storeys: simple 2-light casements to attics, all
windows with leaded panes. Main entry with portico.
