A pair of estate cottages. Mid C19. Faced with bands of ornate bricks, plain
red brick string course and rusticated quoins, black glazed pantiled roof. 2
storeys. An internal chimney-stack with the shaft set diamond-wise. 2-light
casement windows in heavy rounded brick surrounds: 4 to ground storey, 2 above.
C20 doors in similar surrounds. Included as the best and most decorated
example of the 4 pairs of cottages built by Robert Lofft of Troston Hall to
mark the limits of his estate.
