TL 97 SW TROSTON IXWORTH ROAD
3/56 Cottage to rear of Troston
Cottage, later converted to an outbuilding. Late C16/early C17. Timber-framed
and rendered; late C19 red brick gable end on south, with upper door. Roof
covered in corrugated iron. Plain internal chimney-stack. To the south of the
stack, a 2-storey range with a single large room on the ground storey and 2
rooms above. Main beams exposed on ground storey: large open fireplace with
timber lintel. Upper fireplace with early C19 cast iron grate. To the north
of the stack, a single-storey section, possibly an addition, but all framing
covered. Included for group value.
