3/13 The Poplars

II

Farmhouse. C17 and mid C19. 2 storeys: L-shaped form. Timber-framed and rendered, with pantiled roof to front range. 2 chimney-stacks, each with 2 shafts with attached heads, set on the rear wall. A 2-storey gabled porch in the centre front, with the upper storey jettied, and supported on brackets. 3-light C19 casement windows with a transome to the ground storey; plain 2-light casements to upper storey, set in small projecting square bays, bracketed below and with small gablets above. All gables and gablets have C19 finials and pierced and fluted barge-boards. A long mid-C19 wing at the rear with slate roof.
