Description

TL 97 SE HEPWORTH THE STREET
(EAST SIDE)

3/15 Meadow View

II

House. Late C16/early C17. 2 storeys: set sideways-on to road. Timber-
framed and rendered; pantiled roof: ridge-tiles with ornamental cresting;
pierced and fluted barge-boards to the west gable, and a long narrow turned
finial at the apex. An internal chimney-stack with 3 attached hexagonal
shafts on a high square base. A one-and-a-half storey lean-to along the north
side contains the present entry: 3-light and 4-light C19 casement windows and
a 6-panelled door. The remaining fenestration is partly C19, partly C20. A
bulge in the upper wall of the gable indicates that the walls have been
heightened to lower the pitch of the roof. Timbering exposed inside.
