1/17 Steam Mill

Former steam mill, now electrically operated. C18 and C19. 3 storeys; set
sideways-on to road. Timber-framed; part rendered, but mainly weatherboarded;
slate roofs. The buildings are in 2 distinct but linked sections: nearest the
road, a building said to have been originally a maltings and granary,
containing the remains of C18 timber-framing, but now modernised. A C19 lean-
to extension along the east side in flint rubble, heightened with a
weatherboarded top. Adjoining this building to the north is the mill building
proper, which retains the framing of its outer walls, and was apparently
extended; the large lucam is off-centre. This is boarded, and supported on
ornamental cast metal brackets. Various small-paned fixed or casement
windows. An upper door below the lucam.
