2/29 The Old Post Office

- II

House, formerly with a shop and post office in part. C17. One-and-a-half
storeys; 3-cell form; set sideways-on to road. Timber-framed and plastered,
with panels of comb-pargetting. On the east side, 2 Tudor roses and a fleur-
de-lys in plaster relief spaced along the wall. Thatched roof; internal
chimney-stack with a plain red brick shaft. Small-paned casement windows and
2 eyebrow dormers to side elevation. At the north end, an early C20 flat-
roofed, canted double shop front with large small-paned windows and a half-
glazed door; in the apex of the gable a traceried circular window. A brick
and flint lean-to along the west side. Some plain studding and main ceiling-
beams visible inside.
