House. C17. One-and-a-half storeys. Timber-framed and rendered; thatched
roof; internal chimney-stack with a plain red brick shaft. Part of the east
wall has been raised, and the west wall is on a higher level. 3-light
casement windows with a single bar to lights, and a 2-light upper window.
Below the eaves on the east side, a "Sun' Fire Insurance sign. The interior
has plain exposed timber-work and ceilings; side purl in roof. The house is
set sideways-on to the street: recessed entrance door on the south gable end.
Detached from the house, but immediately adjacent, linked at eaves level and
forming part of the same property, is a small C18 cottage. One storey and
attic; 2-cell plan. Timber-framed and plastered; thatched roof; an end
chimney-stack with a white brick shaft. A low C19 lean-to in brick and flint
along the rear wall. Two 2-light casement windows with cross-bars; plank
door. Poor quality internal framing, and a side purlin roof in poor repair.
