TL 86 NE GREAT BARTON NETHER STREET

1/14 Thingoe Cottage

House. C17. One storey and attics; 3-cell form: lobby entrance. Timber-framed,
faced in C19 random flint and brick, now whitewashed. Clay pantiles. An
internal chimney-stack with a plain red brick shaft. 2 3-light mid-C19
casement windows with a single bar to lights, arched heads to frames and
surrounds, and original external 2-panelled shutters; a third window in the
same style now has a late C20 fixed window, divided into 4 lights. One large
gabled dormer with a 3-light casement window and plain bargeboards. A C20
enclosed, partly glazed porch. An extension along the rear, roofed at a much
shallower pitch, has a timber-framed and plastered upper storey, jettied out
over a flint-and-brick ground storey.
