CHURCH OF ST MARY

C15. Consists of nave, 2 aisles, tower and north porch. Built of
knapped flint with flushwork, stone dressings. Some original plaster
cornices remain internally. The roodscreen by John Albrede of the C15
is a fine one though incomplete. The font is particularly good with
representations of the Seven Sacraments. There is a chapel of the C16
built by Thomas Seckford Master of the Court of Bequests who is buried
in the church 1587.
