Former farmhouse, now house. C17 with additions of late C18 early C19 and
C20 dates. Timber framed with brick skin of C18 date and plain tile roof.
Two storeys with attic. Baffle-entry C17 plan with added late C18 wing at
centre of front forming a T-shaped plan. Road front: 4 bays, near
symmetrically disposed. Projecting central wing of c.1784 of two bays with
a doorway at right which has a classical surround of early C19 date having
fluted pilasters to either side with moulded bases and caps. Open pediment
above. Door of 6 raised and fielded panels with similarly panelled
reveals. To left of this is a sash window of 5x4 panes with cambered head
and ashlar sill. Two similar windows to first floor level and a window of
4x2 panes to the attic. The right hand flank of this projecting wing has a
window of 4x4 panes with cambered head at right and a similar window above
this to the first floor. The left hand flank is blank. To right of this
wing is a ground floor window of 6x4 panes with a cambered head and similar
to the first floor. To left are similar windows to ground and first
floors. Chimney stacks of 2 flues to the ridge of the wing and to right of
the C17 body, also of 2 flues. The right hand gable end refaced in the C18
and again in the C20 has a 3-light casement window to the ground floor with
cambered head and a similar window to the first floor between which is a
C20 sundial. Extending to right of this front is a single-storey wing with
French windows and 2 windows of 4x4 panes at left of C20 date. Left hand
gable end: one ground floor C20 window of 4 lights with a cambered head.
to left of this is a 2 storey wing. Rear projecting gabled wings at right
and left of C19 date. The rear of the C17 body has a C20 window at right
of oak with 4 lights having segmental heads to the lights and moulded
mullions and a transom. Above this is a similar 3-light window at first
floor level. To left of this is a ground floor C20 window of 6x4 panes and
above this a first floor window of 4x4 panes.

Interior: the ground floor hall has a crossed arrangement of chamfered
ceiling beams with stepped end stops resting on heavy, jowled wall posts.
Further jowled wall posts to the first floor and close-studding to the
walls with passing brace. One blocked 3-light window with diamond mullions
and renewed sill and chamfered ceiling beams. To the attic are cambered
tie-beams, arched braces and wind bracing. To the C18 wing is a moulded
door surround and 6-panel raised and fielded door and an ashlar chimney
piece with arched panels at the side containing gadrooned ornament, paterae
to either side of the frieze and further panels to the frieze with
gadrooning and Greek key ornaments to the centre.
