10/128 Tower Cottage
Cottage. Early C19. Red Flemish bond brick with slate roof Two storeys.
Road front: 3 bays symmetrically disposed. Two-storey central bay with
single-storey lean-to bays at either side. The central bay projects
slightly and has square turrets to corners with vertical slits at ground
floor level and cross-slits to the first floor. Between these at ground
floor level is a 3-light casement window with Tudor hood mould and to the
first floor is a 2-light casement with 4-centered head and hood-mould.
Above this and around the turrets runs a battlemented parapet with moulded
coping. To either side of this central bay the lean-to bays have 4-
centered relieving arches around recessed panels containing C20 single-
light windows with square hood moulds. Moulded brick kneelers and coping
to the half-gables. Above the right-hand half-gable is a C20 loft
extension with slate-hung side wall and felt roof.
