(formerly listed as
16.3.66 Tithe Barn, SW of
Sutton Hall Farm)
Barn. C16 or C17. Red Flemish bond brick. Thatched roof. Undivided
barn with double transepts. North face: whitewashed brickwork, two
projecting gabled transepts, now with clapboarding to the gables. C19
lean-to shed running along the whole of the side. South front: left
hand projecting transept appears never to have had double doors. Low
doorway at right with C20 cement lintel. Above this a band of 3 bricks
depth. Tumbled brickwork to the gable. The right hand transept has
been cut down to ground floor level, now with a lean-to roof. Lean-to
open store between these two transepts with wooden posts. East gable
end: projecting plinth above which is a section of wall with 6 rectangular
breathers above which is a band of 3 bricks below the gable which has
2 breathers. West gable face: similar to that of east but with a C20
entrance cut in at right with double doors.

Interior: Roof of 12 bays all having principals and collars, the alternate
bays having tie beams. Windbracing in paired arrangement at far ends
and to left and right of centre. The wall plates continue across the
transepts and the principals and common rafters descend to meet them.
The transept roofs do not, however, appear to have been later additions.
