Public house. C17, considerably altered and extended to west late C19; roof
rebuilt following fire in 1949. Timber framed core, brick extensions,
plastered facade; roof of modern plaintiles. 2 storeys and attic. Modern
casement windows without transoms, square leaded panes; older part with 2 5-
light splayed bay windows and modern porch with half-glazed door, all under a
continuous moulded wood cornice; late C19 extension in same style: full height
gable facing forwards, one 5-light bay window and one half-glazed door with
flat hood. One internal stack and one external stack to west. To east is
former stable block, now a restaurant: painted brick, pantiles; single storey;
3 sash windows and 4-panel door. Included for group value.
