4/4 Culpho Manor

House, formerly manor house. Early C16 core, extended c.1600; further
alterations of C19 and c.1920. 2 storeys. Hall range with cross-wing of
c.1600 to right. Timber-framed, encased in red brick. Plaintiled roofs with
C16 internal chimney of red brick, recapped C19. C20 small-pane casements.
Gabled plaintiled entrance porch with half-glazed panelled door. To left of
chimney is a C16 core consisting of hall and 2 service rooms. Massive exposed
framing, plain crown-post roof, and evidence for diamond-mullioned windows.
The main range was extended to right and a further cell, of cross-wing form,
added c.1600; good wind-braced butt-purlin roof.
