Description

TM 37 NW CRATFIELD NORTH GREEN

2/49 Apple Tree Cottage
-
- II

Farmhouse. Probably early C16; renovated 1983-4. Timber framed and
plastered, roof of modern interlocking concrete tiles. 2 storeys. 3 cell
form. Small casement windows, gabled porch with boarded door and rebuilt
internal stack, all of mid C20. Modernised interior: the substantial arch-
braced open truss over the former open hall has been retained and there is
some evidence for diamond-mullioned windows; very rough but substantial
joisting to the left hand cell, probably original.
