Description

TM 37 SW CRATFIELD UBBESTON ROAD

5/61 Manor Farmhouse
-
- II

Farmhouse. Mainly C16; the part to the left of the stack is a later addition,
with a further probably C19 wing set forward. Timber framed, roughcast
render; roof of modern plaintiles. 2 storeys. 3 cell form with cross passage
entry. C20 casement windows; 4-panel door to right hand side, half-glazed
door to left hand side. Internal stack and gable end stack to right hand
side. The hall has a moulded beam and joist ceiling: at the front of the room
the joists are unmoulded, suggesting there was originally a screened passage
in this position. The central first floor room has a moulded spine beam and
is separated from the through passage by C18 fielded panelling. Some good
exposed framing on the first floor; 2 original arched doorways, one on each
floor.
