25.9.83 Heveningham Hall

GV II

Walled kitchen garden some 40m west of the Orangery. Red brick. The walls
enclose an area of 1.166 hectares and are said to have been built with bricks
from the house demolished in 1703. Divided east-west by early C19 serpentine
wall c.90m in length also in red brick with moulded brick copings. Arched
openings with fluted keystones and stone ashlar springings to arches. See D.
