TM 37 SE HEVENINGHAM HALESWORTH ROAD

8/75 Store in Kitchen Garden at
25.9.83 Heveningham Hall

GV II

Early C19 garden store in north east corner of kitchen garden. Colourwashed
red brick with rendered south elevation. Single storey. 2 lunette windows; 2
arched doorways and wide main doorway with 4-centre arch and fluted keystone
as in serpentine wall. On the south side is a late C19 pantiled canopy with
decorative timber fascia. 3 Suffolk gault brick stacks. A platform on the
south side is approached by stone steps with cast iron balustrades: this was
probably formerly a heating chamber for the adjoining greenhouse of which only
the foundations remain. Under conversion to residential use at time of
survey.
