House. Late C16/early C17. Timber-framed with colourwashed render and a
thatched roof. Two storeys: 2-cell baffle-entry plan. Road front: three-
light ground floor window at right with ovolo-moulded mullions, partially
renewed, 2-light window at left of centre with C20 glazing and at left a 3-
light and a 4-light window, both having diamond-section mullions, that at
right renewed. To the first floor at left of centre a 2-light window with
ovolo-moulded mullions. To the ridge at left of centre is a stack of 2
flues. Right hand gable end: 3-light window to the ground floor with
ovolo-moulded surround, widened in the C20. First floor ovolo-moulded 3-
light window. Planted fascia to the bressumer brought from Featherstone
Hall. Rear: outshut to the length of the ground floor, mostly of C20 brick
with a pantile roof. Within the outshut the rear wall of the house has
close studding with a tension brace to the right hand corner. One 4-light
window with diamond-section mullions and one 2-light window with ovolo-
moulded surround and a plank door. Panels of wattle and daub infill
showing at first floor level above the lean-to roof.
Interior: Close studded walling, chamfered ceiling beams and exposed joists
and chamfered wall plate. Massive brick stack. Jowled wall posts to first
floor level and exposed common rafters and wind bracing.
