TM 26 SW
4/37 Estate Nos 285 and 286
-
GV II

Pair of cottages, probably originally one house. C17 or C18. Timber
framed with a colourwashed render and a thatched roof. Two storeys. Road
front: doorway at right and 2 doorways at left, probably originally a 3-
cell plan. At far right and left are 3-light C19 or C20 casements. Near
the centre is a similar 3-light window. The first floor has two 3-light
casements at near-centre and right and to far left is a 2-light casement.
Left hand gable end has a lean-to to the ground floor. The ridge at right
of centre has a 2-flue stack which has been rebuit and a further single-
flue stack to the left hand gable end. The right hand gable end is blank,
save that it has a portion of decorative roofing at the level dividing the
walling from the gable.
