Farmhouse. Dated 1593. Built for the Stebbings family. Timber framed
with colourwashed render and C20 pantile roof, originally thatched. Two
storeys. Entrance front: entrance doorway at left of centre with a 1/2-
glazed C19 door with a 2-light casement at left and two 3-light casements
at right. To the first floor at left are two 2-light casements and at
right a 3-light casement. To the ridge at right of centre is a stack with
sawtoothed flues above the rectangular base which bears the date and
initials I.S. and M.S. above and below the date on an octagonal stone.
Rear: projecting wing at right. Projecting catslide outshut to the right
and at left of this a ground floor doorway to its right and two 2-light
casements to the first floor. Right hand gable end: 3-light ground floor
C20 casement and a 2-light first floor window.
Interior: closely-spaced studding to the walls and cambered ceiling beams
and blocked windows with moulded mullions.
