Watermill. C18. Timber framed with clapboarded covering. The gambrel
roof has plain tiles to its lower pitch and pantiles to the top. Two
storeys with attic. Up-river front: mill race at left with cambered head
enclosing mid C20 cast iron waterwheel, underdriven. To right of this is a
cross window. The first floor has at right a doorway of 6 panels with much
nailhead decoration, the central 2 panels formerly glazed but now boarded
over. The door is approached by a C20 oak staircase. Right hand gable
end: glazed ground floor door. Three-light first floor window. Lucam to
the gable which has a window of 4 x 4 panes. Left hand gable end: central
ground floor door. Rear: at centre is a lean-to sun porch with clapboarded
sides and three openings to the front with chamfered posts and a doorway to
the rear wall. To the first floor at left are two 2-light casements.
Interior: Wooden wheelshaft with pitwheel, wooden upright shaft on which
are mounted the wallower and compass-arm spurwheel. Millstones and their
drive missing.
