Coal and Wine tax post. Circa 1861. Metal, four legged plinth with chamfered pier above. Moulded capital and pyramidal top. City of London Shield cast on front in the capital band. Lettering on the pier reads :"24 & 25 CAP. VIC 42".
A coal and wine tax post indicating the boundary at which duty was payable; that on coal dating back to the 1660's.
