Obelisk. Early C18. Stone on square moulded plinth. Obelisk shaft c50 feet
high. Inscriptions on side of plinth record the purchase of the estate by Sir
John Vanbrugh, the construction of Claremont House by Henry Holland for Lord
Clive and a memorial inscription to Prince Leopold and Princess Charlotte.
