Semaphore house. c1822. Rendered brick on projecting plinth with hipped slate
roof. 3 storey square tower to centre, 2 storey bay to left, 1 storey bay to
right, all over basements. C20 glazing bar sash windows throughout. Projecting
single storey porch with window to left of tower. Panelled door on left hand
side of porch approached up a flight of 6 steps. At time of resurvey house was
undergoing restoration.
One in a series of semaphore towers from Portsmouth to Whitehall.
