House. c.1880 by R Norman Shaw; altered. Red brick in English bond, 1st floor
tile-hung with fish-scale tiles and plain tile offsets; plain tile roof. One
storey with two attic storeys; 3 bays. Wooden mullioned windows with leaded
casements. Central bay, all of brick, projects slightly under curvilinear
gable and has small-pane part-glazed panelled door and 3-light window under
moulded brick cornice, with 5-light window with moulded brick sill and cornice
above. 3-light window to right bay with 2-light window above breaking eaves.
Left bay has bay window of 7 x 2 lights with transom and flat roof; 4-light
window above eaves under gable. Central hipped-roofed dormer. Tall, external,
corniced stack at left end. Rear: central small-paned glazed double door with
overlight; windows of 2 and 3 lights to left; bracketed 6-light canted bay
window to right. Windows of 3 and 4 lights below gables to lower attic floor.
A 4-light hipped-roofed dormer to right. Left return; a small light in base
of stack; on ground floor a bracketed, transomed, 4-light window to left, and
on lower attic floor a bracketed 4-light window with pent roof to each side
of stack. Right return: segmental-arched 4-light window to left; C20 lean-to
on right. Windows of 4 and 3 lights to lower attic, 3-lights to upper attic.
